"God answers my prayers everywhere except on the golf-course."

Billy Graham

Psalm 15

LORD, who may dwell in your sacred tent? 2 The one whose walk is blameless, who does what is righteous, who speaks the truth from their heart; 3 whose tongue utters no slander, who does no wrong to a neighbour, and casts no slur on others; 4 who despises a vile person but honours those who fear the LORD; who keeps an oath even when it hurts, and does not change their mind; 5 who lends money to the poor without interest; who does not accept a bribe against the innocent.

As I read this Psalm, what struck me was how practical it was. So often we define our Christian lives in spiritual terms or even how we score on the Christian orthodoxy scale. So often the Bible seems to say it is not just what you believe that matters but how it affects your life.

As you go into the sports club today, make sure people know that you are a Christian. But not just by wearing a fish badge or something similar. No, show that you are a follower of Jesus by:

Doing what is right;
Speaking the truth;
Being sincere;
No gossip or hurtful comments to or about others;
Keeping your promises – even when it hurts;
Being generous and honest with your money.

And as Jesus said, “By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” John 13:35
