"I love the sense of satisfaction that I get when I’ve done a swimming workout or race, and know that I gave my whole being and heart to God in every moment of the swim. It’s the best worship I can offer him."
The European football yearbook 2016-7

editor Mike Hammond, London, Carlton books, 2016. ISBN 978-1-78097-845-1For the book describes itself as: “the only authoritative annual on the European game”. I don’t think anyone would disagree. In 768 pages it covers the European football comprehensively. And with 9 pages devoted to football in the Faroe Islands, it doesn’t get more comprehensive that that!
There are reports on all the UEFA club and country competitions from senior to Under 17, men’s and women’s. There are profiles of the top 100 players playing in Europe.
The section on each country includes a summary of the previous season, an update on the national team, a report on the country’s performances in European club competitions and a club by club section with last season’s results and player appearances.
The book is in full colour with photos on every page. It is a great work of reference, a coffee table book and also very readable as you turn the pages.
