"I love the sense of satisfaction that I get when I’ve done a swimming workout or race, and know that I gave my whole being and heart to God in every moment of the swim. It’s the best worship I can offer him."

Penny Heyns

Harry Mullen. London, Carlton, 2016. ISBN 978-1-78097-766-9

This is a book which certainly lives up to its name. There is a 60 page section of profiles of the great boxers. That is followed by longer profiles of 12 legends of the ring. A chapter called the great fights describes 25 of the greatest fights ever from 1892 to the present day.

The book also has sections on trainers, promoters, great boxing arenas, the administration, rules and conventions of boxing. There is a comprehensive list of world champions and their fights at all weights as well as a chronology of boxing

Finally there is as much fight trivia as you could want do you know for example:

what the biggest attendance ever to watch a fight is:

which boxer was floored 27 times in a fight; the longest ever fight:

the most consecutive wins:

the oldest and the youngest to win titles:

or which boxer took part in most of draws.

If you don’t know the answers that simply another reason to buy the book
