"I jump into a sand pit for a living"
What do you want? (2)
"What do you want me to do for you?" he asked. They replied, “let one of us sit at your right and the other at your left in your glory”. Mark 10:36-37The question is posed twice in Mark 10 but the context is a bit different. Last week we saw Bartimaeus using the opportunity to have his sight restored. Here the disciples request places of honour in the kingdom.
Before we condemn the disciples with all the righteous indignation that we can find – I always have a supply for when I need it – let us examine our own heart.
I know that my own flesh is far from crucified. We are like to be recognized, to have status, to be seen as important.
Imagine you are asked that question by Jesus. How would you reply?
Take a moment to reflect on it, then tell Him.
