Alan Mullery was a professional footballer 1958-75, playing for Fulham, Tottenham and Fulham again. He played 35 times for England including the 1970 World Cup. Afterwards he managed 6 Football League clubs.
He describes his wife telling him that she had taken Jesus into her life. His reply was “good for you but it doesn't mean much to me”. Eventually he agreed to go to church with his wife which he sums up: “I have no intention of preaching to you here. All I will say is that I eventually became a Christian too. There was no miraculous change in my fortunes but when life was at its lowest ebb, my faith helped me pull through”
