You can be the ultimate athlete, Susan R Germanson, ACw Press, Oregon, 2004 ISBN 1-932124-19-5 (398 pages)
The book consist of 80 devotionals, arranged in 6 sessions - workout, competition, challenges, positions, people, miscellaneous. Each devotional is about 4 pages with a Scripture, thoughts on a topic (warm-up, bad luck, injuries, anger, captain, coaches etc), more relevant Scriptures, a quote or two and finally Personal notes and ideas. The personal notes and ideas always include "What would Jesus do?"
The opening paragraph states that the book "is written for all types of athletes - beginning athletes or accomplished athletes with lots of experience. It doesn't matter what sport you play. This book will be very useful for you and your teammates (Page 13). By and large I felt that the book fulfilled its aims. It also contains a great deal of common sense, written by someone who clearly understands sport. An example of this common sense is to be practice as "going into a bubble where most everything else is not allowed". (page 25).
Thoroughly recommended.
