Kriss Akabusi with Stuart Weir, Oxford, BRF, 2007

Enthusiasm for God is obvious, and excitement that wisdom, much needed by the modern world and very helpful for Christians, can be found in the Psalms. Akabusi’s Third World tribal background brings added conviction. Nine Psalms and the Song of Moses are studied and full texts given. Psalms show real people engaging with a real God. We too are urged to be real, honest and frequent in communication with God. We see that even for a terrible sinner like David such openness allowed him to be a man after God’s heart, yet Akabusi considers there may be more than one side to some of his bitter complaints.
