This is the ninth edition of the Carlton World Football Records which is uptodate enough to include the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.
The first section is on Countries with up to 6 pages of profiles, stats of the German national team – or any other major country you care to choose - and its principal players. While the coverage of Africa and Asian international football is less extensive there is still a thorough 10 page section on Africa.
The major world tournaments – World Cup, European Championships, Africa Cup of Nations and the Copa America are covered in some detail. The FIFA age-group tournaments which are often ignored in the UK are covered in some detail.
This is an excellent and comprehensive book.
My only criticism is that of 256 pages only 11 are devoted to women’s football.
