Athletics Kit 2015

Earlier this year British Athletics offered us some unused polo shirts which were surplus to requirements. The shirts are now in Argentina, Brazil, Kenya, Togo and Ukraine.

The Mas que Vencedores athletics club have embroidered their own logo onto the shirts.

We worked with The Doxa Project and Ambassadors in Sport to distribute kit in Kenya,

St Monicah’s School, Nakuru.

In Brazil we worked with the Space to Fly project. Space to Fly is an after-school club which works with disadvantaged children in deprived and violent areas in the Northeast of Brazil.

Children who come to Space to Fly experience poverty and violence on a daily basis. Some of them live in really hard realities. Through the constant contact and investment of the churches, these children grow to have a different perspective in live through homework help, outings, nutritious food, encouragement to read and spiritual guidance.

Gifts like these shirts were given to some Space to Fly facilitators, (who are mainly volunteers, and come from the same neighbourhood as the children), and also given to families in different Space to Fly events, as an instrument to strengthen the relationship between Space to Fly and the families and to bless the families.

Stuart was the Togo Olympic Attaché in 2012. The photos show the team chaplain, Magloire, receiving shirts at the Olympic Committee offices.
