New sports facility
Verite Sport has partnered with Standard in Ukraine since its formation. In 2020 Standard asked if we could made a grant to help them develop an all-weather football pitch. We were able to do so and facility is now complete. Director Zhenya Dontsov told us: “We have 130 kids with practices 2-4 times per week. We have six coaches. Some of our teenagers help as assistant coaches to the younger children. That helps us but at the same time they learn how to coach. We also try to build relationships with the families”.
The football academy teaches football skills in a Christian environment as well as seeking to develop the boys’ character. The pitches are located at the University of Rivne with which Standard has good relationships.
