“Knowing Christ is the best thing that has ever happened to me, although winning the US Open was a pretty good second.”
Visit 2010
Stuart spent a week in Kazakhstan in April/May. The week ended better than it started! Panic number 1 occurred when I discovered at 6.30am on Monday morning that my flight was Monday, not Tuesday and that I was leaving in 3 hours. Panic number 2 was when I realized that my visa was valid from when I thought I would arrive not from when I would arrive. Result 21 hours in the passport control area of the airport before being allowed to leave 1 minute after midnight when my visa was valid. The trouble with working on your own is that there is no one to blame. In January 2011 Kazakhstan hosts the Asian Winter Games and in May 2010 a conference was held to help churches in the area prepare to minister at the Games. There were 40 delegates at the conference from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Ukraine and Azerbaijan and Stuart did several teaching sessions as well as being a judge on the conference version of Kazakhstan’s got talent.
Speaking at a school - with Margo
I was able to give some kit to a football club in Uzbekistan - kit kindly donated by the Football Association.
I spent the weekend in Ost-Kamenogorsk, near the Chinese border with Dima and Margo. Verite Sport supports their ministry in basketball.
